Smile design in Matamoros, Mexico
Smile design is the planning of tooth shape, size, proportion and shade in relation to your face, before any cosmetic treatment is done. That design then guides the treatment: whitening, veneers, crowns, orthodontics or a combination.

When it may be an option
- You don't like the shape, size or shade of your teeth.
- Your smile looks uneven or out of proportion.
- You want to understand your options before choosing a treatment.
- Your case needs a combination of cosmetic treatments.
What it includes
Analysis and photos
We study your face, lips, gums and bite.
Digital design
Tooth shape and proportion are planned on your own photos and records.
Preview
In some cases a temporary trial can be placed on your teeth so you can see the design before starting.
Treatment plan
The design defines which treatments are needed and in what order.
How the process works
The design is the starting point; total time depends on the treatments chosen.
- 1
Evaluation
Oral health check and a conversation about what you'd like to change.
- 2
Records
Clinical photos and records of your teeth and bite.
- 3
Design proposal
We show you the proposal and refine it with you.
- 4
Plan
Treatments, order and schedule are defined.
- 5
Treatment
The plan is carried out, with restorations made by HG Dental Lab.
Possible benefits
- You see the planned result before committing to treatment.
- Decisions are based on your face, not a standard template.
- The specialist and the lab work from the same design.
Limitations and considerations
- The design is a simulation; the final result depends on your case and the treatment.
- Not every design is clinically possible; the health of teeth and gums comes first.
- Some treatments that follow from the design can't be reversed.

Smile design FAQs
Is smile design the same as getting veneers?
No. The design is the plan. It may lead to veneers, but also to whitening, orthodontics, crowns or a combination.
Can I see what it would look like before starting?
We show you a proposal and, when the case allows, a temporary trial. It is an approximation, not a guarantee of the final result.
How long does it take?
It depends on the treatments chosen. We give you an estimated schedule after your evaluation.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the plan that comes out of the design. We explain the cost after your evaluation.
